Praise God for an excellent series on Luxury, Poverty and the Kingdom of God. To me, John’s attempt to show us Christ’s love has always been obscured by his writings in Revelations. John did not intend for us to spend all of our Bible study time trying to interpret his dreams. His message is simple- Love. I see that more clearly now.
I appreciate the way you share your own personal feelings which are very often similar to my own…and often not very Christ like. If I were in charge of benevolence fund, the information sheet would probably contain questions such as …do you smoke? do you drink? How much junk food do you eat? I must try to give as Jesus did…without questions-unconditionally.
I am grateful for the freedom I have within this church. I grew up in a much more fundamental denomination here in Kingston. I did not have the freedom to question…to explore all issues and to express an opinion that might be controversial. This freedom strengthens my spiritual walk.
