Team Hoyt

Courtesy of Team HoytMy mom sent me a video link today that shows Team Hoyt in action.  Team Hoyt, whom you’ve probably seen on TV sometime, is 65-year-old Dick Hoyt and his 46-year-old son Rick.  Dick runs marathons and Ironman Triathlons while pushing or pulling Rick, who is a quadriplegic with cerebral palsy.  Although Rick can’t speak, his mind is sharp and their web site contains some of his testimonials and perspectives.

You can’t see or read anything about this story without being amazed and inspired.  Today I checked out their Boston Marathon times and was impressed to see that they ran a respectable 4:07 this year.  Even more amazing:  This is their slowest time ever (and Dick had a heart attack five years ago, so can be forgiven for slowing down a bit!)  The Hoyts have run Boston many times in under three hours!
