Sunday Seven – Labor Day

Labor Day is the least observed holiday of them all, I think. But we’ve all benefited from the labor leaders of the past. Like my grandpa, who worked for decades at the Firestone plant in Akron, Ohio. (Photo courtesy of Coal Camps USA).- Labor Day Reflections. A thoughtful post on the holiday.
- Speaking of labor, here’s why mowing the lawn relieves stress and boosts your memory. Yeah, right.
- And here’s the hard truth about when I floss. Too true.
- Defying Death Valley. A look at the brutal Badwater Ultra Marathon.
- The art of manliness. Can you unclog a toilet or mow your yard like Wrigley Field? This site will make a man out of you.
- Life recorders. Maybe in the next decade you’ll wear a device that records every second of your life. Really?

#3 I don’t even need to read– I agree. I love to mow my grass– I can’t hear whining and fighting over the mower. I have a full hour of thinking and remembering without interuptions (“I can’t hear you”, I say.)And they just accept that the mower is loud and I can’t turn it off until I’m done. Speaking of this… I hope it will dry up, I need to mow.
#5 There is an art to that? (I am smiling.)

Kristan, if you love to mow grass, have I got an opportunity for YOU! But you’ll have to move back to Kingston to take full advantage of it.

Thanks Dennis. I am afraid, however, we will not be moving back anytime too soon. Sorry. BTW, I did get to mow the other day. My neighbor says, “when you mow, you really get on it don’t you.” I think this is because I mow in crazy patterns and like a mad woman. I love it.
